Sextile

What It Is

A sextile forms when two planets are approximately 60° apart in the zodiac. The orb of influence is generally 4–6°. Sextiles connect planets in complementary elements — specifically, they link fire with air (both active) or earth with water (both receptive) — which is why the energy flows relatively easily between them.

The sextile is sometimes described as the "lighter" version of the trine: harmonious and cooperative, but requiring a bit more initiative to activate. While a trine delivers its gifts almost automatically, a sextile is more like an open door — the opportunity is there, but you need to choose to walk through it.
